Payments

Rooutie uses Stripe to handle all payment processing — one of the most trusted payment platforms in the world. Connect your account once and start earning from the trips you sell, with direct payouts to your bank account.

Setting Up Payments

Go to Monetisation → Payments in your business dashboard.

Step 1 — Select Your Country

Before connecting, choose the country where your business is based. This determines the verification requirements and payout currency for your Stripe account.

Step 2 — Connect with Stripe

Click “Connect with Stripe” to start the Stripe Express onboarding. You’ll be guided through:
  • Business and personal identity verification.
  • Bank account details for payouts.
  • Any country-specific requirements.
Stripe onboarding typically takes 5–10 minutes.

Step 3 — Start Earning

Once connected, set prices on your trips and start selling. Rooutie handles:
  • Secure card payment processing.
  • Automated sales tax collection (VAT, GST) where applicable.
  • Buyer receipts.
You receive payouts directly to your bank account on Stripe’s standard schedule.

Platform Fee

Rooutie charges a 10% platform fee on sales made through the platform. You keep the remaining 90%. No monthly fees on sales — you only pay when you earn.

Managing Your Stripe Account

Once connected, click “Open Stripe Dashboard” from the Payments section to:
  • View your earnings and payout history.
  • Manage your bank account details.
  • Check payout schedules.
  • Handle any compliance or verification requirements.

Status Indicators

StatusWhat it means
Setup IncompleteStripe onboarding hasn’t been completed yet
Onboarding CompleteYou’re connected and ready to receive payments
If your status shows Setup Incomplete even after completing onboarding, try refreshing the page or contact Stripe support directly.

What You Can Sell

Once payments are connected, you can set a price on any published trip guide. Buyers pay once and get permanent access to the itinerary in their Rooutie account.
