Custom Domain

By default, your Rooutie landing page lives at rooutie.com/@yourbrand. With a custom domain, you can map your own domain — like trips.yourbusiness.com — directly to your Rooutie landing page. Same powerful platform, fully under your brand’s URL.

How to Connect Your Domain

Step 1 — Enter Your Domain

  1. Go to Web Presence → Custom Domain in your business dashboard.
  2. Enter the domain or subdomain you want to use (e.g., trips.yourbusiness.com).

Step 2 — Add a CNAME Record

Log into your domain registrar or DNS provider (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, etc.) and add a CNAME record:
Type: CNAME
Name: trips (or whatever subdomain you chose)
Value: [your Rooutie CNAME target — shown in the dashboard]
DNS changes typically propagate within 1–24 hours depending on your provider.

Step 3 — Verify

Once the DNS has propagated, return to Web Presence → Custom Domain and click Verify. Rooutie checks for the CNAME record and confirms the connection. When verified, your custom domain is live.

Removing a Custom Domain

To disconnect a custom domain:
  1. Go to Web Presence → Custom Domain.
  2. Click Remove to detach it from your account.
Your landing page will revert to the default rooutie.com/@yourbrand URL. Remember to remove the CNAME record from your DNS provider to avoid any orphaned DNS entries.

Common Issues

DNS not propagating? Wait 24 hours before troubleshooting. DNS changes can be slow to propagate globally. Verification failing? Double-check that the CNAME record name and value exactly match what’s shown in the dashboard. Extra spaces or typos will cause failures. Not sure how to add a CNAME? Most domain registrars have help articles — search for “add CNAME record [your registrar name]”. Or contact us at help@rooutie.com and we’ll help you through it.
