Sharing & Collaboration
The best trips are planned together. Whether you’re coordinating with a partner, getting buy-in from friends, or working with a travel agent who’s building your itinerary — Rooutie’s collaboration tools keep everyone on the same page, in real time.Sharing a Trip
Sharing a trip takes 30 seconds:- Open the trip you want to share.
- Click the Share button (or find the share option in the trip menu).
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- Choose a permission level:
- Can Edit — the collaborator can add, edit, and delete steps, days, and transport. They have full planning power.
- Can View — the collaborator can read the itinerary but can’t make changes. Perfect for keeping people in the loop.
- Click Share to send the invitation.
For the Invited Collaborator
When someone shares a trip with you:- You’ll receive an email notification.
- The trip appears in your My Trips page under the Shared With Me tab.
- Open the trip — if you have edit permission, every planning tool is available to you.
Collaborative Chat
Every shared trip includes a built-in real-time chat that all editors and viewers can use. No need to coordinate over WhatsApp or email — the conversation lives right where the plan lives.- Click the chat icon on the trip editor to open the chat panel.
- Messages are visible to all collaborators on the trip.
- Use it to suggest changes, debate options, ask questions, or just get excited together.
- Chat history is preserved — anyone can scroll back and catch up on everything that was discussed.
Managing Shared Access
To see who has access or to change permissions at any time:- Open the trip menu (three dots next to the trip title).
- Select Sharing or Manage Access.
- View the full list of collaborators and their permission levels.
- Remove access for any collaborator whenever you need to.
Shared With Me
The Shared With Me tab in My Trips shows every trip that others have shared with you. Each trip shows the owner’s name and the permission level you’ve been granted, so you always know what you can and can’t do.Trip Proposals (Agent Feature)
If you’re working with a travel agent on Rooutie, they can create a Trip Proposal just for you. A proposal is a complete itinerary built by the agent that you can review before committing. Proposals appear in the My Proposals tab of My Trips and show their current status:| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Sent | The agent has sent it — it’s waiting for your review |
| Viewed | You’ve opened it |
| Accepted | You’ve approved the itinerary |
| Requires Changes | You’ve requested edits |
| Rejected | You’ve declined it |
